Right of Reply: Defending Civilization, Protecting Children – Rejecting Extremism of LGBTQIA
Sri Lanka must ponder: living privately is one thing; legalizing confusion and unnatural sexual behavior is another. Civilization has been built on the natural order of man and woman, family, and procreation. Religions, laws, and cultural norms across time have consistently condemned acts that undermine this foundation. Societies endure and prosper when natural family structures are respected; they falter when unnatural sexual behavior is normalized. LGBTQIA ideology—backed by foreign funding and driven by ideology and profit—sought to overturn biology, target children, undermine families, interfere with religion, and punish dissent, all under the guise of “inclusion” while camouflaging its impositions as “love” or “progress.” Today, the global experiment has collapsed: corporations are retreating, media and entertainment giants are losing profits, and victims are coming forward with their horror stories. The collapse of the trend confirms what Sri Lanka’s laws, religions, and cultural wisdom long warned—that such behavior brings no lasting benefit to individuals, society, or future generations, and that resisting this ideology protects civilization, family, and children.
Recent media pieces—Gamini Akmeemana’s reflection on corporal punishment and LGBTQ issues, and Giselle Gunawardena’s commentary on the Watawala tea advertisement—attempt to portray caution or concern as backward or intolerant.
They conflate private behaviors with ideological imposition, misrepresenting concern for children, family, and society as backward thinking. The true issue is defending civilization, protecting children, and preserving the natural order—not promoting temporary lust or foreign-funded ideological experiments.
Private Freedom vs Public Coercion
Society does not interfere with private decisions among adults – moral or immoral. It becomes a concern when immoral acts are promoted publicly or used to influence children.
The argument of “consenting adults” cannot justify repealing laws designed to protect minors and uphold public morality.
The ongoing calls to remove Penal Code Sections 365 and 365A which include explicit provisions safeguarding children reveal the true agenda of the LGBTQIA movement.
These laws exist for a reason: to preserve the natural order of family, protect childhood innocence, and ensure the continuation of civilization. Far from being archaic, the laws were strengthened in 1995 and 2006, reflecting an enduring societal need to defend children and family structures.
Private choices among adults should remain private, these private acts should not be promoted for children to experiment same. However, current efforts through NGOs, social media, youth workshops, and events actively promote experimentation among minors. The interference of diplomats and NGO lobbying politicians to push this agenda has only worsened the situation. This ideological indoctrination is profoundly harmful to children’s physical, mental, and moral development and directly undermines the very foundations of a stable and healthy society.
However, it must draw the line when a movement seeks to:
- Rewrite laws to normalize unnatural sexual behavior
- Enforce pronouns or ideological speech by law
- Override parental authority
- Indoctrinate children in schools
- Distort science for political ends
- Legally recognize confusion and fantasy as fact
- Silence critics under the pretext of “hate speech”
Freedom ends where it infringes upon the rights of children, families, and society. Civilization depends on this natural boundary.
Personal choices of a handful cannot undermine civilizational continuance.
Global Lessons
Worldwide, TQIA overreach has shown damaging consequences:
- UK– Tavistock Clinic: minors given puberty blockers and irreversible surgeries without adequate consent. Sweden & Finland halted puberty blockers after long-term health risks were identified.
- USA– Parents threatened with loss of custody for not affirming transitions; teachers and doctors punished for using biological pronouns.
- Detransitioners– teenagers and young adults suffering lifelong physical and mental consequences.
- Language manipulation – over 80 genders and neo-pronouns replacing biological reality in law and public policy.
These outcomes confirm that unnatural sexual ideologies are socially engineered, harmful, and culturally destructive.
LGBTQIA Is Not Natural
Historically, transgender identification was extremely rare: 0.002%–0.01% globally, mostly adults, medically diagnosed.
By 2022, activism and media campaigns drove spikes in Western youth: 3.3% of U.S. teenagers claimed transgender or nonbinary identities.
Real medical conditions do not surge 1000% in a decade—only ideologies do.
Muslim-majority countries, home to 1.9 billion people, show no comparable rise. Based on Western claims, tens of millions of LGBTQIA individuals should exist, yet clinics, schools, and social surveys report consistently low numbers, even among Muslim communities living in the West. If this were natural, prevalence would be global. Its absence confirms: LGBTQIA is socially engineered, promoted, and politically enforced, not biologically inevitable.
Corporate Retreat and Cultural Reevaluation
President Trump’s Executive Order 14168, rescinding DEI mandates, triggered a corporate and societal shift:
- Targetceased LGBTQ-focused DEI programs.
- Walmartand Meta scaled back DEI commitments.
- Netflixlost billions in market value due to subscriber decline and backlash against ideologically driven content.
- For what reasons are a handful of Sri Lankan companies adopting DEI as a corporate HR policy when the LGBTQIA 2021 survey confirmed only 0.03% of the population—roughly 6,600 people—while Sri Lanka’s workforce totals some 8.4 million? Have these companies considered that such programs may contravene the Constitution and Penal Code provisions? It is worth noting that DEI initiatives began being promoted globally in the late 2010s, with LGBTQIA inclusion becoming a central focus around 2018–2019, often tied to foreign-funded campaigns and corporate policies influenced by Western ESG and UN lobbying frameworks. In Sri Lanka, their adoption mirrors this global trend rather than reflecting a genuine domestic workforce need.
However, the trend is tumbling and Generation Z is returning to faith and traditional values. Studies show increased religious practice among young men, reflecting a broader societal re-evaluation of meaning and morality.
Sri Lanka must draw a clear line
The LGBTQIA agenda seeks entry into Sri Lanka under the guise of “progressive education” and “human rights”:
- Foreign-funded NGOs promoting comprehensive sexuality education in schools even demanding it as a loan condition
- Undermining parental authority and allowing minors access to medical interventions without consent
- Moves to repealPenal Code Sections 365 and 365A, erasing child protections
- Media campaigns normalizing “gender identity” for minors while labeling dissent as “homophobic” – the recent controversial ad had nothing to do with promoting tea but promoting an ideology. This was nothing but funded social-engineering.
- Political lobbying to legislate ideological compliance
Private choices should be respected—but society cannot allow foreign-funded ideology to reshape laws, schools, culture, religion, or children’s minds and most of all impact civilizations future.
Profit, Coercion, and Civilizational Harm
The LGBTQIA movement has become a lucrative enterprise: confusion drives treatment, treatment drives profit, and profit fuels ideological influence. Children are targeted into lifelong dependency, while societies are manipulated into accepting behaviors that:
- Defy natural law
- Encourage unnatural sex against the laws of nature
- Undermine family and civilization
- Promote temporary lust, often accompanied by a host of other illicit practices (substance abuse, alcohol, smoking, hard porn, etc.) instead of responsible procreation. Sexual intimacy is a beautiful and natural experience meant to strengthen family bonds and nurture civilization—it should not be distorted into destructive experimentation or commodified lust.
- Those corporations, NGOs, or individuals who actively promote such ideologies do so primarily for profit or influence, showing little concern for the moral, physical, or psychological harm inflicted upon the victims.
The two authors, and all promoters of LGBTQIA ideology, are unlikely to acknowledge that civilization endures because man and woman, family, and children are protected. The LGBTQIA community itself exists only because of men and women giving birth to them.
The law, culture, and religions of the world—including Penal Code Sections 365 and 365A—exist for a reason: society cannot survive if unnatural sexual behavior is normalized or legalized. Marriage between same-sex individuals produces no children; families cannot be formed; culture collapses under artificial constructs. People are not robots or machines—upholding the natural order is essential for the survival and flourishing of society.
The Message should be Clear
- Live privately, without harming others
- Do not impose or legalize unnatural sexual behavior
- Protect children from indoctrination and harm
- Uphold science, law, and cultural values
- Preserve family, religion, and civilization
Sri Lanka must affirm: civilization, family, and children come first. Private freedom does not justify public coercion, the promotion of confusion, or the destruction of the natural order. The nation’s media has a crucial responsibility to protect and shape the lives of children, rather than normalize ideological experiments that threaten their physical, mental, and moral development as well as the continuity of Sri Lanka as a nation.
