What if AKD NPP doesnt listen to LTTE Diaspora Threats?
A clear mandate has been given by the citizens of Sri Lanka to President Anura Kumara & his party. There are no alliance partners to pull their legs. This unprecedented mandate cannot be tarnished for people living in foreign lands & dictating to the President & his party from foreign lands.
If LTTE fronts have given funds for the campaign on assurance for numerous demands that in reality compromises the national sovereignty of Sri Lanka, it would not be the first time such funds would have been given to political parties. However, why did previous occasions not bring such dramatic election results. In short, how come the Diaspora could not deliver election results from the North of this nature. Why couldnt they influence voters previously if they claim to have influenced the voters to vote for NPP at the general elections. However, lets not forget that the Northern voters did not vote for President AKD a month earlier.
2024 September Presidential Election – Jaffna
Anura Kumara Dissanayake – 27,086
Sajith Premadasa –121,177
2024 September Presidential Election – Vanni
Anura Kumara Dissanaayke – 21,412
Sajith Premadasa – 95,422
The President & NPP have 2 choices to make
- They can continue siding with elements that wish to divide & separate Sri Lanka – elements who do not live in Sri Lanka, who will never come to live in Sri Lanka & who had for over 30 years funded & materially supported terrorists.
2. The President & NPP can decide to take the side of the majority of Tamils who do not want to divide or separate Sri Lanka & address the real grievances that have never been catered to by their Tamil representatives – jobs, housing, better education facilities, safe environment (drugs, drinking, domestic violence etc) These are the areas that will win more support for the Govt.
So the choice is simple. However, previous governments also failed to do so & were happy simply following the silly politically correct line of thinking & chirping what the extremists wanted in view of the pressure they were able to exert using hired media.
Now a golden opportunity has come for the new Govt to change the status quo.
