What SWRD Bandaranaike should have done in 1956

This would have

  • reversed the historical injustices to the Sinhalese since colonial rule in denying the use of their language
  • continued the English language
  • Tamils would have had no grievance as Tamil language was never an official language before or after colonial rule
  • a national program where Sinhalese & Tamils are taught each others languages would have brought them closer in the use of each others mother tongue and would have preserved the language as well
